UNIVERSAL GENEVE "White Shadow" automatic microrotor reference 867101, with extremely rare "IRAQ - SADDAM HUSSEIN" customization dial, produced in the 1970s. Extremely rare men's watch of considerable collectible interest, featuring a round, water-resistant steel case and screw-down case back. Original crown with Universal logo. Cobalt blue dial with IRAQ customization and signature of former dictator Saddam Hussein, applied steel indexes, and steel baton hands. Self-winding mechanical movement with microrotor, Universal Geneve caliber 2-67 with 25 jewels, in perfect working order, having been completely and professionally serviced by our watchmaker.

NOTE:  this watch is remarkably rare and extremely collectible. It features both the Iraqi coat of arms at 9 o'clock and the signature of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein at 3 o'clock. This series of watches, commissioned by Saddam Hussein from Universal Geneve, represents a long-standing tradition for Middle Eastern rulers, who gave personalized watches as a gesture of recognition and appreciation to subjects, diplomats, or government officials. In addition to Iraq, other countries have ordered watches with personalized dials, including Oman, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

The reference 867101 and case number 3184874 are externally stamped, while the internal parts bear the regular Universal Geneve hallmarks. Original protective plastic on caseback. Original crown with Universal Geneve logo. Case dimensions: 34 mm in diameter (excluding crown and crown guards) x 41 mm (lug to lug).

Dial: Original, cobalt blue with white graphics and a rare IRAQ logo at 9 o'clock and Saddam Hussein's signature at 3 o'clock. Universal Geneve logo and writing at 12 o'clock. White Shadow - Automatic - Swiss writing at 9 o'clock. Date window at 3 o'clock. Applied steel indexes and steel baton hands.
