ZENITH “Defy Plongeur 600m” reference A3646, rare professional diving watch with steel case and bracelet, produced in the late 60’s. This particular underwater version was tested and guaranteed by Zenith as a diver at a depth of 600 meters. Special octagonal steel case with screw-down case back and crown. Bidirectional rotating bezel in steel with original black and white bakelite insert, graduated for decompression times. Original gray dial with light patina of time and initial and uniform start of color change towards brown / mink. Rectangular applied indexes with tritium treatment, original white and orange spheres with tritium treatment. Hand-wound mechanical movement, Zenith caliber 2552PC. Original ZENITH bracelet protected by Gay Freres, with extension for the suit also suitable for generous wrists. This watch is difficult to find, in excellent storage conditions and fully functional.

Case: in three parts in steel, with a particular octagonal shape and screw-down crown. Bidirectional rotating bezel in steel with original black and white bakelite insert, graduated for decompression times. The caseback has the Zenith logo on the outside (4-pointed star), internally we find the following engravings: Zenith – Swiss made – acier inoxidable – PAT PEND 18008 68 – modele deposè. Screw-down winding crown. Case dimention: 37.5 mm (net diameter without crown) x 44 mm (from handle to handle);

Dial: original, gray color with a slight patina of time and initial and uniform start of color change towards brown / mink. Graphic printed in white, at 12 o’clock: Zenith logo applied in steel and Zenith writing – automatic. At 6 o’clock: Defy – Swiss made T. Dater between 4 and 5 o’clock, with quick return from the crown (2nd position of the crown). Rectangular applied indexes with tritium treatment, original white and orange spheres with tritium treatment;

Movement: automatic Zenith caliber 2552 PC, in perfect working order.

Bracelet: original in original steel marked ZENITH on the box, equipped with extension for wetsuit and safety lock. Made by Gay Freres in 1969. Also suitable for generous wrists. One end is marked ZC the other has been rebuilt but is not original (aesthetically, there is no difference);
